I prepared to attempt to clean his cast more today. I got the SOS pad and some paper towels and latex gloves. Picked up Thurs and he was mellow for awhile, then got irritated and, well, made it known that he was irritated. The spots I scrubbed at didn't show much improvement anyhow, and I'd have to hold him in increasingly awkward positions to clean the whole thing since he managed to get the poo ALL over.
I wondered how that happened, since the last two days he has had solid poops. In the litter box I found a great deal of bloody diarrhea. So.......that plus nasty cast I can't scrub clean equals a trip to the vet today.
I believe, at this point, that he is hiding under things because he feels vulnerable with the useless leg. So, until that cast comes off, I am only letting him out of "his room" when he is in my sight, like curled up next to me in bed while we bond and play games on king.com. And then it is back to his safe space. Nowhere to hide in the bathroom. Probably should have gone with this all along, but I wanted him to feel confident and explore the area. Time to get ready to go.....
